Hi there, I’m Neil Brown and I was recently nominated as the Membership Officer for Wycombe Liberal Democrats for 2024. My role is to organise events, engage members and hopefully increase our membership.

Our dinner is a great social event but also the biggest fundraiser for our Scottish Parliament Glasgow Regional List campaign (our best chance of re-electing a Liberal Democrat Parliamentarian in Glasgow and Rutherglen) - all funds raised will go towards the GGLD Fighting Fund.

Consequently, we really do need you to support this event in any way that you can. We would love to see you there, but, if you can’t make it, please consider a donation to the Fighting Fund or purchase some raffle tickets.

May Pub Drinks - London Results Edition

As polling day is on the first Thursday of the month, we have moved our pub drinks to Saturday evening - by which point we should have a result.   This will be a chance to let you hair down after what will have been a long month  - and a time to celebrate our progress in London. 

For anyone who wants to go "out out", a certain Lib Dem-led band are playing O'Neill's Soho at midnight.   Ask Charlie for info ;) 

NB - there will be a seperate "Thank you party" on May 8th at the NLC - attended by Rob, Hina and the campaign team, but we want to keep up the regular monthly pub drinks as a more casual event.

Dance to the infectious rhythms and foot-tapping music of The Sussex Pistols, the renowned barn dance band. No dancing experience is necessary; you will be guided through each dance by caller Vic Smith.    Vic chooses appropriate dances from his wide repertoire to suit the abilities and experience of the dancers. 

There will be a bar selling drinks and snacks and each entrant will get a free entry into our prize raffle. Doors open at 7.00 and tickets cost £15, £7.50 for under 18s or £30 for a family of two adults and two under 18s. Proceeds from the evening will go towards the campaign to elect Liberal Democrat James MacCleary as our next Member of Parliament.

It’s been a while since we’ve been in contact, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy!

Wells & Mendip Hills Lib Dems have been gearing up for the General Election, which must take place in the next nine months. 

We have taken office space in Cheddar - at the heart of the new constituency - from where we’ll run Tessa’s campaign to be your MP. 

We’d like to invite you to the official office opening at 15:30 on Sunday 5th May. 

We’ll have refreshments and there’ll be an opportunity to talk about our plans - and yours - for the next few months.  

Please feel free to bring your family along too. If you’re able to let us know how many of you to expect, we won’t run low on cake!

London Campaign Thank you Party

This is an invitation for anyone who has contributed to the London campaign over the preceding months to come and enjoy a relaxed evening at the National Liberal Club.  Deliverers, canvassers, phonebankers, donors, HQ staffers, envelope stuffers, digital campaigners - and more. All of your contributions add up - and however the campaign ends we already know that we have raised our game. 

We'll be based in the Lounge for the evening (ground floor), with access to the terrace and the wider club.  Rob & Hina will be on hand to say a few words (c. 7pm), and there will be some lighthearted "awards" - so get out there canvassing!   

There will be some complentary drinks available  - so do come early if you can, and as a additional thank you for your efforts, the NLC are offering our attendees a complementary single of Gladstone Axe Whiskey - created by the great grandson of William Gladstone himself.

Meet the Lib Dem Prospective Parliamentary Candidates (PPCs) for Battersea, Putney, and Tooting.

Frances Chubb (PPC Battersea Constituency), Kieren McCarthy (PPC Putney Constituency), and Judith Trounson (PPC Tooting Constituency) will explain their views on the importance of a diverse and inclusive UK.

This meeting  will start at 11am on Saturday 27th April in the small hall attached to Holy Trinity Church, Upper Tooting, SW17 7RH.

The church hall is within easy walking distance from Tooting Bec Tube station. There is free parking along Trinity Crescent next to the church, although spaces might only be available at the far end towards Balham High Road.

The PPCs will present their position on moving the country forward for the benefit of all its communities, and answer questions covering core issues asked by members and supporters.

Doors will open at 11am. Tea and fruit juice will be served. 

The presentations will start at 11.30.

Get your Quiz hats on for our Pub Quiz - Friday 17th May

Tickets are now available for our Pub Quiz to be held on Friday 17th May

After our first hugely successful Christmas Pub Quiz, we are delighted to host out Spring St Neots & Mid Cambs constituency pub quiz and invite you to join us for a fun evening of quizzing, food and drink.

Date: Friday 17th May

Time: 7pm - 11pm

Venue: Papworth Everard Village Hall, Ermine St, Papworth Everard, Cambridge CB23 3RD

Ticket Price: £15 or £10 for unwaged

In the course of the evening we will be serving a buffet of hot and cold dishes and there will be a cash bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

You are welcome to join us as a fully formed team or come alone and we will put you with some friendly team mates.

We will also have the obligatory Lib Dem raffle - if you have a raffle prize you would consider donating, please contact Sarah on scjlibdem@gmail.com

All funds raised will go to the St Neots and Mid Cambs Constituency General Election campaign. 

This event is open to friends and family so please do feel free to bring a team!

Members' Policy Event - Regenerating Our Towns

Paul Roper, Councillor for Kingsmead Ward and Cabinet Member for Economic and Cultural Sustainable Development will showcase some of the high Street Regeneration programmes and activities that are in progress or under consideration in our communities. This is an opportunity to see how our regeneration resource, developed under a Lib Dem administration is making a real difference to our townscapes.

This zoom event is open to registered members and supporters. Whichever of our three constituencies you live/work in, this should be an interesting and uplifting evening.
